Why study Biology?

The Biology studied at A or AS level provides a solid background for both science and non-science based degree courses. The study of Biology at Advanced Level also forms a good basis for careers in bio-medical sciences, genetics, environmental sciences, veterinary and medical fields. It provides a powerful and fascinating insight into, among many other things, the make-up of the human body, and the scientific basis of environmental change.

How will I study?

The lessons will be a mixture of teacher-led activities, practical experimental work and student presentations. At times you will be expected to work in a group and at other times individually.

What do I need to start the course?

A Grade B is strongly recommended in double or triple science.  We cannot accept students who have studied single award. A Grade B in Maths and English is also strongly recommended.
