Why study Chemistry AS/A2?

Study of Chemistry provides a sound basis for both science and non-science based degree courses, and a good grade in Chemistry A Level is a requirement of many science degree courses including medicine, dentistry and veterinary science. The course is, in itself, a fascinating exploration of how the building blocks of life are created and connected.

How will I study?

The lessons will be a mixture of teacher–led activity, discussions, presentations and experimental work. You will work in small groups and individually. Homework is set on a regular basis. All topics are assessed with end of Module tests. Time is built in for revision and exam practice. Trips to a chemical industry and to universities are organised.

What do I need to start the course?

A Grade B in strongly recommended in double or triple science.  We cannot accept students who have studied single award. A Grade B in Maths and English is also strongly recommended.
